A number of factors determine the final embroidery price. First, there is the conversion of your logo or graphic into a digitized stitch file. (A 4″ x 4″ left or right chest logo usually costs $25 to digitize. A full-front 5″ x 9″ embroidery can cost as much as $35 to $50 to digitize.) If you are doing a number of the same embroidery file, this is a one-time set-up charge.
Next is the stitch-count, usually measured in units of 2,000 stitches. All sweatshirts or hoodies with embroidery retailing for $42 assume a standard stitch file of 10,000 stitches. The number of stitches in the graphic determines the amount of time it takes for the machine to produce the embroidery. (For example, a graphic with 16,000 stitches can take as much as 30 minutes to embroider.)
If the embroidery contains more than 10,000 stitches, the following surcharges apply: For every 2,000 additional stitch-count, we charge $3. (Therefore, a sweatshirt with a 12,000 stitch-count would retail for $45. A sweatshirt with a 14,000 stitch-count would retail for $48. A sweatshirt with a full frontal graphic of 16,000 stitches would retail for $51. – Rarely do we embroider a graphic that has more than 16,000 stitches.)

Points to consider when uploading files for DTF Printing or Embroidery Digitizing:
- Make sure all graphic files are 300 dpi
- For a clear, clean result, your size should be as close to “size-as” for the position you have chosen
- The Recommended size for a full-front (or full-back) center graphic should be less than 12 inches across and the height no more that 14 inches.
- (On Smaller Sweatshirts [sizes S, M and L], the overall size of the image will be reduced accordingly.
- A left or right chest logo should be less than 4 x 4 inches.
(A standard 4″ x 4″ left or right chest logo would be about 10,000 stitches, while a 5″ x 7″ center graphic could run up to or over 16,000 stitches which will add to the overall cost to enbroider.)
